Note: MSDN OS licenses will no longer be available after 1st September 2015,
What happens if I have an active MSDN OS license after 1st September 2015?
If you have an active MSDN OS licence (2 or 3 year Volume licence agreement) you will continue to receive MSDN/OS benefits, and will have the option to renew into Visual Studio Pro with MSDN at the end of the 2 or 3 year term.
What happens when a licensee of Visual Studio has a change of company name?
Action: Send Jill@parkway.co.uk, a Word document with the old and new contact details with the agreement number.
What happens when UK based companies have foreign subsidiaries that use Visual Studio Software? A UK based parent company may purchase software licences for their wholly owned subsidiary(ies) outside of its Geographic Region? E.g. A subsidiary which operates outside of EMEA i.e. USA or India.
However the following rules apply:
- The use of that software must be for the benefit of the UK parent company and not used by the subsidiary company for their own use.
2. The licenses must be purchased under an Enterprise Agreement or the Microsoft Products and Services Agreement (MPSA).
This rule does not apply under the OPEN Agreement programs, as these Licenses are limited to the “region” the license was purchased.
Note: The Microsoft Open License, Open Value, and Open Value Subscription programs (the Open Programs) allow companies to share agreements and accompanying benefits—such as price levels, centralized license management, and license transfer — with their “Legal Affiliates” only within a Defined Region. Consolidation of purchases, license transfer and sublicensing are not allowed beyond the Defined Region boundaries identified below. The term “Legal Affiliates” is defined in the relevant Open Program agreement.
